Bedroom Re-Do Inspiration

Tomorrow night, The Girl will be going to her Nana's house.

She will be back on Monday or Tuesday (if I can last that long before driving to pick her up).

While she is gone, I will be re-doing her room.

She likes her room, but she and The Boy have decided to switch beds.

She has a full-size mattress, and he has twin-size bunkbeds.

I have spent most of today browsing Google, blogs, and Pinterest for inspiration.

If I tell of you about it, I will be holding myself accountable for actually going through with the makeover.

Which means I will be doing The Boys' room next.

Thank goodness it's Summer and paint dries quicker.

I love this room, but for my daughter, my favorite part is the wall color.

I also love this wall color. And the hoop art.



And this paint color. I also love the yellow crib...perhaps my daughter needs a yellow dresser? Yes, I think so.

Everything about this room makes me drool. I'd love to re-create it, but with bunkbeds. And regular walls. And zero artistic ability.

As for decor...

I'm pretty sure I could never figure out how to make these. Someone make them and send them to me, kay? Kay.

I think I can handle this one. "Think" being the key word.

I am so beyond in love with this. Be.Yond.

I kind of want to do this to every chair in my house. Just because.

Too many projects for one weekend?

I guess we'll find out next week.

Shark Attack Snack

I get so many great ideas when you guys link up every week.

I have a huge massive insanely ginormous file saved to my computer full of posts that I'd like to re-create one day.

I finally got around to making one of them.

My kids are thrilled to have had "shark" for a snack.

:)



I got the idea from Sun Scholars and will definitely be making it again.

Mason Jar Picnic

So here's the deal...

For Easter, I was in charge of dessert and whipped up some little lovelies in Mason jars.

After posting, one of my readers said that my Mason jar idea would be great to take on a picnic.

Soon after that, I told my bloggy BFF Rachelle that I needed a fab post for Tatertots and Jello.

Rachelle went a step further with my idea and suggested an entire picnic created from meals in Mason jars.

Genius!

I decided to go with a kiddie picnic for my trial run.

Not that my kids don't deserve an uber fancy schmancy picnic under the stars or anything, but you know; let's try the hotdog thing before I bust out the filet mignon.

;)

For this picnic I made some homemade potato salad (printable below), hotdogs with buns (cut-up and drizzled with their favorite condiments), and some homemade funfetti cake a la mode.

Easy peasy and super yummy.

Sometimes it's nice to surprise the kids with a special meal and see their faces light up with excitement.

And sometimes it's nice to envision that scenario in your mind and then try not to be totally disappointed when your three-year-old decides he despises your surprise and wants nothing to do with your picnic.

:)

You can't win 'em all.

Next time it will be grown-up style: delicious dips with pita bread, warm breadsticks with tiny jars of marinara sauce, and a dessert under the summer sky that makes my husband swoon.

There are so many "quick and easy" recipes out there.

Splurge with something fancy and throw a Mason jar picnic playdate that makes you the envy of your MOPS group.

Or bring a picnic basket full of jars of patriotic-colored fruit to your neighbor's Summer BBQ.

The possibilities are endless!

You know how I keep saying that I have a million projects to post?

It's true.

However, I'm enjoying Summer.

I used to blog while my daughter got ready for school. I'd sip coffee and blog away; reading comments after I dropped her off at school.

Now, I wake up at lunch time.

I'm kidding. Kind of.

I feel like I'm neglecting my lovely readers, but just because I'm not writing doesn't mean I'm not reading.

I read so many blogs- so many projects, recipes, tips, decor...I read it all.

I'm just not in the comment-y mood.
