Our master bedroom always seems to be the catch-all space of every home we live in.
It's the area of the home that gets the least amount of traffic, and we often toss things in there when we have visitors.
At our old house, I re-did the master bedroom after completing makeovers for the kids' bedrooms.
In this house, now that we have the playroom, I have a great place to have the kids play while I worked on the transformation.
Unfortunately, when we moved, we decided to sell some of our old furniture, and the remaining pieces were used in other rooms of the house.
We had zero furniture for an entire year.
(We have now lived here for 13 months.)
Long story short: we are not hoarders, we just had no furniture or storage anywhere in our bedroom.
I feel like I have to warn you, because umm...
Tragic, yes?
Then we're all in agreement?
Awesome.
So I bought some furniture and stopped living like a homeless hoarder.
I can't tell you how much I love the new space!
The bed stayed the same.
Bedding is from Target.
Almost everything else is from Ikea.
That happy yellow chair was free at a yard sale- it just needed some spray paint.
I never realized that the window above our bed wasn't centered, so after I discovered it and had a minor anxiety attack over my non-symmetrical bedroom, I came up with this plan:
I added some curtains ($4.99 at Ikea. HOLLA!) to make a make-shift headboard and create a centered space.
It doesn't look so hot in the above photo, but in-person, there are so many details around the room that you don't focus on the window.
Now all I need is a bassinet next to my bedside, and my bedroom will be complete.
Thanks for braving that embarrassing room transformation reveal!
I hope we can still be friends.
Happy weekend.
